Well, I just figured out why my site not only appeared funny, but also failed to register a single hit. The hit count wasn’t because nobody visited. It was actually due to an error in the code of my page that I had changed to try to place a download counter for Firefox on my page. Ends up that something broke along the way and made my page invalid HTML. Anyway, now it’s fixed, so all of my pages will render correctly and I will be able to tell that there are still people out there who might just have a passing interest in what is going on inside my head.

Now I Can Come To You

Do you find that you are forgetting to visit my site to see if I have anything new? Now you can use a little program called an aggregator to get the latest from me. Just go out and download a news aggregator that supports RSS 2.0 and subscribe to my feed. Right now I am using JetBrains Omega Reader 1.0.4, which is currently being offered for free. It requires the Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1, as do most of the aggregators that I have seen. I am sure that there are plenty of other quality news aggregators out there, including the one built into Mozilla Thunderbird and a few plugins for Mozilla Firefox, so don’t feel obligated to use the one that I am using.

What is RSS, you ask? Basically, it is a way that a web site can publish headlines or other content in a standardized format. You can then use a news aggregator to subscribe to one of these feeds. Whenever a new item is available, it show up on your aggregator the next time the aggregator synchronizes. By doing this, you do not have to go and visit each individual site to manually check for updates.

To subscribe to my feed, click on the icon that is in your browser’s address bar (in Firefox or IE7) and tell it to subscribe to the feed. If you are using IE6, you can right click the "Hungry? Feed on RSS" and click on Copy Link Location, then paste the address into your feed reader.

As per my Mom’s request, I have actually run a spell check on my blog. It should now be in a readable state. Hope you like.

Error!

Ok, I feel kind of stupid. In my gallery of Day 3 of the Quebec trip, I incorrectly stated that an employee of Toys’R'Us took the picture of CJ, Chief, and I as the Village People. In reality, she just helped us get our nifty outfits. Cassandra corrected me on this point, and I have duly corrected the caption. Thanks for the feedback.

Down Time

Well, I’m sorry about the website being down over the weekend. I’m not sure what was wrong, but it has been fixed. Let’s hope that it never happens again.

Quebec is Fixed

Oops! I launched the Quebec galleries without checking them out myself. Because of this, I posted one page on which none of the graphics appeared and another with no pictures. Both issues have been resolved, so now everything should work as planned. Enjoy!

Quebec Is Here!

Finally, after months of anticipation and a week’s work, the Quebec gallery is finally here. So, please enjoy the eight new galleries which contain 132 pictures from my French class’ trip to Quebec during spring break last year. If you see any errors (ie, mislabeled pictures, duplicates, nonexistent pictures), please email me.

The Hard Work Is Finished

I have finished scanning, cropping, and shrinking all of the Quebec photos that will be appearing in the gallery. If you were wondering what took so long, it is because the Final Four was last weekend and also because the gallery will contain 132 pictures. At this point, the thing that will take the longest will be uploading all 6.67MB of the images. Most of you might laugh at this small size, but you must remember that with a dial-up connection, these things take quite a bit longer. I will upload the images tomorrow morning (probably) and spend the rest of the week making web pages for all of them. I hope to have the entire gallery online by Sunday.

Quebec

To celebrate the belated one year anniversary of my trip to Quebec, I have finally started to work on the Quebec picture gallery. I’m in the process of scanning all of the pictures tonight. Tomorrow I will edit them and shrink them down so you don’t have to download a 600kb file to view each one. Saturday I’ll probably code up the pages for the gallery. Then, thanks to our dial-up internet connection and one phone line here at home, I will slowly start uploading all of the stuff to the server. Considering how much stuff I have, it could take between a couple of days and a whole week to upload all of it. I promise, though, that it is indeed on its way.

If anyone out there with a broadband connection would like to help by letting me borrow it for a short period of time, please email me. Your assistance could help bring this wonderful gallery to the public a week earlier. Of course, if you could care less, then pooie on you!

Content Stop

Yeah, I go home, where everything is, and give you nothing. That’s how it generally works when I have lots of crap to do. No Quebec pictures, look for them around the first part of April. No Supertones pictures because my camera broke. The latter disappoints me the most since I will never have pictures from the concert. However, the hard copies of the Quebec pictures will never go away. Sorry to all of you who were looking forward to seeing them.
